Should you drain Bakir's blood or kill him in The Blood of Dawnwalker?

Bakir is one of three of Brencis's boyars that you'll need to defeat in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and challenging him comes with two important decisions: should you drain Bakir's blood or kill him outright, and should you let Bakir in? Below, I detail the results of both actions, and ultimately answer whether you should drain Bakir's blood or kill him in The Blood of Dawnwalker.

Should you drain Bakir's blood or kill him in The Blood of Dawnwalker?

Provided you challenge Bakir during nighttime, you'll have two options once your fight against him concludes in The Blood of Dawnwalker: drink his blood, or kill him. Killing him comes with no additional benefits, so I recommend that you drain his blood when prompted.

By draining Bakir's blood, he will still be killed and you'll still be able to loot his corpse. The main difference is that draining his blood allows you to unlock the Shadowstorm Vampiric Ability from him (which you otherwise won't be able to unlock), and you'll then be given another choice to make; whether or not you should invite Bakir into your being.

Should you invite Bakir in or not in The Blood of Dawnwalker?

Inviting Bakir into your being means that his soul will essentially live in your head, remarking the occasional quip here and there as Coen runs into various situations. More importantly though, inviting Bakir in means that he'll use his own special attacks during the ultimate fight against Brencis.

Killing Bakir outright and leaving him in Anachora doesn't come with any additional benefits, so you might as well drain his blood before killing him and make use of his abilities against Brencis. That said, the decision is up to you!
